Structural and Functional Brain Development †MyAssignmenthelp.com

Question: Discuss about the Structural and Functional Brain Development. Answer: Introduction: Children between the ages of three and four years have a combination of energy and curiosity. This is an advantage but could also be a disadvantage in certain scenarios. In the United States of America, statistics have shown that the leading cause of death for children in this age bracket, are injuries that can be easily prevented(Burger, 2010). Children in this age bracket have achieved certain cognitive milestones. Incidentally, they have acquired the ability to name colors management. They are also able to understand the concept of counting. Additionally, they are able to approach their problems from different perspectives. Moreover, they have a sense of time and they are able to engage in three-parts commands (Kramer, Aboud Mironova, 2008). The main aspect of cognitive development in children that could cause them to go into the open water farms and even lead to accidents is their ability to engage in play. One game that many children enjoy to play across the globe is hide and seek. This game involves one child who counts say from one to ten, and the other children scatter to go and hide. Because the children are very energetic, they may not look where they are running, and may end up with injuries. Moreover, children are very curious (Kramer, Aboud Mironova, 2008). If they see areas that look peculiar they will have an interest to go and see what is in these places. Consequently, this could lead to accidents if the places are not child-friendly. These children may also not know the difference between reality and fantasy. Whenever they engage in fantasy play, they may go to areas where they should not venture into and not realize how dangerous this is because to them it is just a game. They may also mimic adults and go to these dangerous areas simply because the adults go to them. It is therefore vital that measures be put in place to prevent children from falling victim of their curiosity and cognitive development management. References Kramer, M., Aboud, F., Mironova, E.
